Proposals
We are currently proposing two options for the site, both would create a landmark building. The two ideas both step up, either 6 storeys or 6 and 7 storeys.
The scheme will stitch together the currently disjointed nature of the existing site, to create a vibrant and cohesive development without harming any future redevelopment in the area.
It is very early days to be considering fixing the material pallete of the scheme, but we are considering light buff bricks, red bricks and glass to reference local buildings and other architecture throughout the city.
Within the overall scheme, we are proposing:
50-60 new homes (one and two bedroom apartments), in a variety of forms;
Two ground floor brand new retail units;
Possible space for community uses;
A proportion of the homes planned designated as affordable housing, to help meet the identified shortfall in the city;
Using energy and waste saving initiatives (both during construction and throughout the life of the building) such as sustainable materials, water conservation and solar panels on the roof.
